PHILOSOPHY

Gardens are where the Earth’s living energy is amplified.  They allow us to breathe, find energy, vitality and wellbeing.  Our own living energy connects with the same energy present in the Earth’s gardens. As such, they nurture and awaken our physical, mental and spiritual selves.

RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships are critical for us.  Our gardens foster enlivening relationships - between people, the earth and each other. These are places where you will find yourself.

Every client is different, every site is different.  The gardens we create are places of beauty and joy, an almost inevitable expression of the site fulfilling all needs.

BARBARA LANDSBERG,
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

Barbara is fascinated with relationships - with ourselves, each other and our living Earth. The living energy that flows through a healthy and beautiful environment nurtures and enlivens those within it – and it is this relationship that Barbara is most interested in fostering in her gardens.

Barbara studied in London at the Inchbald School of Garden Design, and the English Gardening School in the Chelsea Physic Garden. She combines her years of experience and skill in designing gardens with a deep sense of responsibility to the Earth and to those for whom she creates gardens.

The gardens I design are a creative shaping of many dynamic elements, which come together in a complex form yet feel perfectly simple, being so settled in their landscape and so suited to those who live in it.
— BARBARA LANDSBERG

OCTAVIA ROGERS,

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Octavia’s relationship with landscapes manifested from her upbringing on a family farm 80km from Armidale, NSW, in a garden created and grown by her grandmother’s hands, and just a stone’s throw away from a Gondwana heritage listed national park. Working with the landscape is a natural extension of Octavia’s very being and it is these dynamic and diverse landscapes from which she draws inspiration.

While studying Landscape Architecture at UNSW, Octavia maintained gardens throughout Sydney, gaining invaluable practical knowledge of plants and how to look after them. For several years after completing her degree, Octavia worked with a leading bespoke residential landscape design firm in Sydney.

Octavia joined the Landsberg team in 2021 bringing her skills and experience, but also the shared passion for the importance of gardens to the well being of people, communities and the Earth. With the design aim of gardens as places to enjoy life and also nurture and quiet the mind.

Paradise is always  described as a garden, a place of magical beauty, safety, wonder and healing.

In a garden, we connect to the Earth’s living energy.  In a garden we breath more easily, we relax we feel our own energy rising and our minds settling.

In a garden, children can concentrate and run and laugh.

A garden is a place where we can connect to life.
